There’s a story behind each of these things (bet you can’t wait to hear about Chicken-Ito, right??) but no time to write them. But I was inspired to do this great challenge posted by the fantastic MizFitOnline and I encourage each of you to do it too. If you don’t have time for the actual shirt and Sharpies, please tell me YOUR excuses in the comments. Hopefully I’ll have more time to elaborate later.

I love this shirt – it says it all! You should have a bunch of them made up and sell them. I’ll sign up to be an affiliate!

yeah but they’re so individual! Nobody’s excuses are MY excuses. Who else doesn’t want to exercise because somebody once (cough* Mom* cough) called them Chicken-Ito?

I totally love the checklist you have on your shirt!!!
Right now I keep mine hanging in my basement with my exercise equipment (actually ON a piece of equipment) so every time I go down I feel compelled to put in at least a few minutes.
Guilt is a gloriuos thing sometimes π

And I really DO know how to spell glorious. My fingers just don’t know how to cooperate sometimes!

I didn’t even notice the “Chicken-Ito” until you pointed it out. I don’t always get over to MizFit’s blog, but I happen to read this one.
Great job!
Thank you for sharing. Can’t wait to read more.

Waiting patiently to hear about Chicken-Ito. π
So I did one too! I found it empowering and it made me feel sort of rebellious! Like, hey you excuses shirt, you can’t control me…I’ll exercise anyway!

Mine are…
I am TOOOOOO busy
My trainer is not there today
My back hurts
My legs hurt
I have a bone in my leg π
I feel guilty about leaving my family
No one goes with me

You have a BONE in your LEG? OK I have to hear that story. LOL. “No one goes with me..” that one made me tear up. Shannon I may never let you leave California.

I let “it’s cold outside” and “zune not charged” get me this morning. But to be fair, it was also “it will be PERFECT weather after work” for a run and that’s my fave time to do it.
Rarely does it happen though. I’m pretty hardcore with my exercise. Eating healthy however, that’s what I need my shirt for…

Mine are:
It will make my achilles tendonitis flare up
I look awful in exercise clothes/ swimsuit
No time
It’s boring
Weather’s too hot/too cold/ too rainy/too dry/ too polleny/ too snowy/ too icy
If I can’t do it X times a week or for X amount of time I might as well not bother.
Wow, a lot of those are really stupid excuses! But they are mine, all mine!

All I could think of was Chicken-Ito while watching a rerun of A Natural History of the Chicken this afternoon. One segment featured a fellow who would be PROUD to be called “chicken”.
