O.M.G.
I am so so very excited about all the new WW stuff happening. Yesterday I was offered YET ANOTHER meeting!! (so next week I will be leading THREE) I have so much to do!! I have to take the online training course for At-Work meetings, run to Office Depot and get some things in which to Haul Stuff Around, and answer a ton of emails and make a bunch of phone calls and PREPARE for yet another meeting topic (yeah, this happens every week!) and make flip charts and and and!!
PLUS I have to find time to eat, work out, be with my family, teach THREE online writing classes which are still ongoing (my other life), including teaching for THIS incredible project, edit and publish my section of a literary magazine, host a fundraiser this afternoon for a mayoral campaign in my city, get some writing of my own done (other than this blog) and tomorrow I am participating in the World’s Longest California Roll Sushi Challenge. Wheewwwwwwww!!!!!!!
I did go to a Nia class this morning. Which helped my sanity quite a bit. But as I was leaving the class I got a text from my spouse who reported he was in the E.R. after falling off his bike and injuring his shoulder and HIS HEAD. (I tried very hard not to flash on Natasha Richardson at this moment). LUCKILY he had a negative brain scan but he is now in a sling with a torn shoulder ligament and some dislocation. Owie.
It’s all good. It’s all wayyyyy good. But when it rains (even goodness) it pours, you know?? Zipping off now……….

Foodie, I wanted to link to a wonderful post of yours but i can’t find it– the one where you talked about how the concept of losing weight to look good sort of irritated you. I agreed so totally I wrote on the same subject. If you happen to know roughly when that post was, I’d like to dig it up and link it if you don’t mind. Thanks!

Larkspur, I think it may have been this post? https://foodfoodbodybody.wordpress.com/2009/07/28/just-musing/
It’s a pretty short post but got a lot of reaction. It made me really sad to re-read just now it because one of the comments was made by Leila, who passed away in October. Sigh.

You know, I followed the links to her site and she seemed like such a beautiful woman in so many ways. Hard to read about.
That was a great post too but I recall this one being about, why the heck can’t you be big AND beautiful? Having ambivalent feelings about losing weight for looks, which feelings I definitely have. When people ask me or comment I always talk about health and specifically blood sugar, because how I look feels kind of more like something that’s between me and my SO and if we don’t have a problem with it, they shouldn’t either! Which admittedly is not terribly grown-up. Anyway, I absolve you of further searching on my behalf, I’m sure I’ll come across it again at some point and make sure to bookmark. Thanks!

Wow! Great that you have been asked to do so many meetings. Just goes to show how GREAT you are at leading them.
And I am so impressed that with all that you have to do, you still went to Nia. You are so awesome.
I’m standing on the sidelines cheering you on!

I really believe that when we open ourselves to possibility, the Universe opens doors and showers us in abundance. Revel in it, my friend. You can do it all!

Wow, Foodie! You are a full-steam-ahead kinda lady! Congrats on picking up so many WW meetings right off the bat :). Having read about the fairly intensive training process you went through, I have a new-found respect for the meeting leaders.
