- My home scale showed the lowest number yet this morning, which happens to = the number that is on my DRIVERS’ LICENSE. YAY!!!!Ā I am halfway to my weight-loss goal. š I think I can safely say that the “step it up” approach was a good choice.
- Went to Weight Watchers, (SO much better to go on a Saturday morning than Sunday morning), lost 2.0 lbs on their scale, and got a star for losing 6.2 total since I joined up with them. (I had already lost 10 on my own before going to WW) My inner five-year old was very pleased with the star, and the applause.
- About to go for a walk in the nice cool woods. (edited to add: it was so cool out, and my iPod was so hopping, I ended up racewalking 60 minutes and jogging 20! and it felt great)
- Going to celebrate by making daughter’s favorite chicken pot pie tonight. Just calculated the points at the WW site and realized that a serving (INCLUDING PIE CRUST) is only 4 points!! Woo hoo!!! It’s back on the menu rotation. She’ll be thrilled. Now what I have to remember is to only have one serving (rather than 3) and to NOT serve it over a big heaping mountain of rice. š

I’m reading through the posts and I have to say that I relate completely to all your thoughts about weight and food. I really appreciate you putting it all out there.
Keep up the good work! Thanks for the link. š

Annie, thanks so much for reading and thanks for the company. I hope you’ll keep coming back- the support and companionship and accountability I’ve gotten from this blog have really, I believe, contributed in a HUGE WAY to having things go well this time. I’ve never “put it all out there” before and I think it has made a big, positive difference. Welcome!

Thanks for sharing this blog with me. Its been insightful, inspirational and more. Nice to know I have company in this area.
I am curious. Do you ever get shaky or anxious in relations to food or dieting or something? I dont mean like mentally anxious I mean like you feel, erm, shaky? Hard to explain. I wonder often if its sugar related. For example, when I am eating well, as in dieting and watching intake and selections, in between a meal, I get this odd, shaky feeling. Does that mean I am in need of food? Blood sugar issue or mental anxiety over the food watching and intake.
Am I confusing you?
I tend to combat that feeling with eating – which is often not the right thing. Struggling how to address that. Curious if you have experienced that.
Is it psychosomatic? Low blood sugar? Something else?

Hello Suz and WELCOME. I am glad to have you here. Re your “shaky” feelings — I definitely think it could be a blood sugar thing. Have you had your blood glucose levels tested? No, you’re not confusing me. I’ve had tons of anxiety over food issues as well, so that could also be a factor. One thing is that I often let myself get more hungry when I am eating “consciously” because I’m trying to make good choices instead of just grabbing any old thing. So I am hungrier, and yes, often feel like I can get too hungry. Trying to figure out small things I can eat quickly when I’m trying to really figure out what is the best thing to eat.
I’d say first get a reality check re your blood sugars, and if that checks out normal, maybe do some freewriting when you get that sensation. It would be interesting to see what comes up.

YAY!!! WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO TO CELEBRATE this MILESTONE?! (other than make chicken pot pie, of course). š š š
i myself would get myself a new pair of jeans, but i don’t know what you would like to do? but whatever it is, celebrate! )

You know what’s bizarro? The jeans that fit me 16 lbs ago… STILL FIT ME. They’re not TIGHT, but they still fit. I find this very perplexing. But I might try and find another pair anyway.
